Kick-Ass/Nikita star Lyndsy Fonseca to guest at MCM London Comic Con

Nikita, Kick-Ass and How I Met Your Mother star Lyndsy Fonseca is to attend this month’s MCM London Comic Con, show organisers have announced.

Lyndsy Fonseca starred as Alexandra ‘Alex’ Udinov in spy series Nikita, played Dave Lizewski’s love interest Katie Deauxma in hit comic book movie Kick-Ass and its sequel, and appeared as Ted Mosby’s future daughter in much-loved comedy How I Met Your Mother. Other TV credits include playing Dylan Mayfair in Desperate Housewives, as well as roles in House, Heroes, Big Love, Malcolm In The Middle and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Lyndsy joins a line-up that already includes special guests such as Falling Skies‘ Drew Roy and Connor Jessup, Orphan Black’s Dylan Bruce, Red Dwarf’s Robert Llewellyn, Once Upon A Time’s Meghan Ory, top voice actor Wendee Lee, leading videogame producer Hideo Baba and Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz.

Allure Exclusive: Behind the Scenes of Maggie Q's Met Gala Hair Look

I think my favorite hairstyle right now is the hair loop. Part chignon, part roll, it's one of the rare updos that looks sophisticated and cool at the same time. Last night at the Met Gala, Divergent actress Maggie Q paired it with her awesome Zac Posen gown. You can imagine how excited I was when her hairstylist Adir Abergel gave me the inside scoop.

"I saw the dress and immediately thought of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn," said Abergel. "I pulled a lot of inspiration images from that era, but it was important to me that her hair still felt modern. I also wanted it very clean-looking so it wouldn't compete with her dramatic eye makeup." Luckily for Miss Q, she looks stunning with her hair off her face, so that's exactly what Abergel did. And here's how:

1. "First, I parted the hair in the middle and slicked it pack into a low ponytail using Rene Furterer Vegetal Sculpting Gel. I like using this gel because it's really good at smoothing down pesky flyaways but doesn't flake."

2. Next, Abergel bulked up the ponytail by back-combing it and smoothing down the top layer with a Mason Pearson Hair Brush. He misted the whole thing with Rene Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray to give the hair some hold.

3. "Before I created the chignon, I covered up the elastic," says Abergel. To do this, he took a small piece of hair from the underside of the ponytail, wrapped it around the band, and pinned it place.

4. And finally, the roll: "I wrapped the ponytail around two of my fingers, creating a loop or open bun. Then I just pinned the sides of the open bun to the back of the head to create a half-moon shape.
